Les joined us in November 2019 to help bring warehousing and distribution back in house from a 3rd party logistics provider and to relocate the finance team from Manchester to Hull. Both these goals had to be achieved swiftly as the previous Finance Director had handed in his notice and we had a strict deadline to leave the 3rd party logistics provider. It goes without saying that these two areas were absolutely critical to the business. Both tasks were completed smoothly and on time and improvements to the functioning of the finance team were made.

As soon as he joined us, Les efficiently analysed the problems and proposed workable solutions. He was very thorough in all aspects of the work and it was very reassuring to have him on board. He was great to work with and everyone in the company got on really well with him. As well as dealing with the highest-level tasks in the company, Les was very hands on and happy to help in any way possible.

After the initial tasks were completed, Les explored various options for the future of the business including possible funding sources, new revenue streams and different ecommerce strategies. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic hit the business hard and we had to stop trading in April 2020. If not for that, I would have been keen to keep Les on board for the foreseeable future.
